Our Director of Children’s Programming Liz Shepard sends a dispatch from her current South American visit…
Imagine a group of dedicated film professionals, from points around South America and the globe, coming together to discuss the importance of children’s media and find inspiration from each other. Sound good? Okay, now imagine the setting — beautiful Rio de Janeiro — and you’ll have the Images of Childhood Forum, presented by the very vibrant Brazilian Kids’ Film Festival.
I’ve been blessed to step into this alternate universe with some of the brightest and most motivated people working in the field today, and after four days, my head is crammed with new ideas and a strong motivation to take Children’s Film Festival Seattle to the next level. A world summit of children’s film professionals and experts convening in Seattle someday? In Rio, I have begun to believe that all things are possible.
